Combined Practical Shooting Challenge
A unique competition combining multiple shooting disciplines to test your speed, accuracy, and agility.
Practical Shotgun shooting typically uses Pump Action or Semi-Automatic 12g or 20g guns. In the UK, guns with more than three-shot capacity are classed as firearms. We therefore use a 3-shot capacity .410 Mossberg pump-action shotgun, which only requires a shotgun certificate. This allows novice and less experienced shooters to safely enjoy the challenge.
Targets are predominantly reactive steel targets at distances up to 25m. A Range Officer supervises the run and times the course, with scores calculated as hits divided by time taken.
The course may include barricades, obstacles, and vision screens, requiring shooters to adopt unconventional stances and positions. Full safety briefings and constant supervision ensure the safety of all participants and spectators.
The challenge also includes an IPAS speed shoot with Walther CP88 CO2 pistols. Participants shoot a series of 5 metal plates as quickly and accurately as possible. The finale takes place on our walk-up combat range, shooting 16 hostile plates while avoiding white hostage plates, then finishing by breaching the log cabin door to hit the final targets.
This multi-weapon, multi-style challenge tests agility, accuracy, judgment, coordination, and speed. The overall winner will have demonstrated outstanding shooting ability across all disciplines.
